Journey Within the Pages
Exploring the World of Virginia Ward-Turner

My book, An Age of Innocence, is now available for purchase from ShieldCrest Bookshop, Amazon, Waterstones, or as an eBook. The story is about Rosie, a young girl living in 1855, and her struggle to cope with a very demanding and at times aggressive father. At the age of eighteen, she desires to be free from her father's restrictive regime. To be allowed to socialise with people her own age, perhaps meet some eligible young men; to fall in love. With her father keeping her a virtual prisoner, she knows the likelihood of this happening is becoming increasingly unlikely. Her mother, seeing how unhappy her daughter is, fears that she might run away from home. With the help of a close friend, a clever plot is created that fools Rosie's father into allowing her to go and stay with her godmother in London. London gives Rosie the freedom that she craved. Socialising, attending grand parties, going to the theatre, and, the most exciting thing of all, discovering love. But sometimes things come back to haunt you. A dangerous person from her past, believing that Rosie has a debt to pay, once again causes her untold terror and misery.
